Wedding Etiquette
Father of the Bride Speech
The bride’s father will be called upon by the toastmaster to propose a toast to ‘The Bride and Groom’. Before doing so he will normally welcome the groom’s parents, relatives of both families and any other guests, and also welcome the groom to his family
Best Man’s Speech
It is the best man's duty to respond to this toast on behalf of the bridesmaids, his speech should be light hearted and fun. It should be the high spot of the reception and it is very often his ability to make this particular speech, with humour and interest, that is the deciding chapter on the selection of the best man (no pressure then!).
Groom’s Speech
The bridegroom replies on behalf of himself and his bride, taking the opportunity to thank his parents. He will also take this opportunity on behalf of his wife and himself to thank all those present for their gifts.
To conclude, the bridegroom will propose the toast of the bridesmaids, and thank them for a job well done, he may also present them with a small gift as a token of their appreciation.
Bride’s Speech
It is now quite common for the bride to say a few words on her wedding day, especially if someone close to her could not be present, or if she would like to express her feelings about her entourage, the day or her new husband.

Our buffets are for a minimum of 50 people. We can cater for up to 150 and are licenced for 200. BBQs are based on pre-agreed numbers.
After your wedding breakfast, we can accommodate up to 200 guests for the evening reception from 7.30pm - midnight with no extra hire charge.
We have a selection of DJs who can be booked with music to entertain your guests and party the night away. And don’t forget the all important ‘First Dance’.
Please call to arrange a viewing or consultation. We require a 25% nonrefundable deposit to secure your chosen date. Approximately 8 weeks prior, we will have a second meeting to confirm details and a final meeting 1 month prior to confirm final numbers and settle your balance.

Bowlers Restaurant is the clubhouse for the Southampton City Golf Course. Situated off Bassett Avenue, just minutes from the City Centre and with free car parking, licensed bar and majestic views over the course, it really is the place to go for a lunch time snack, an after work drink or just to meet friends.
